Here’s a helpful hint, Safeway pharmacy: If you’re going to tell me that the thing you called to say was done yesterday isn’t actually done at all, try to get my name right by the third time I’ve told it to you in five minutes. Particularly if I just spelled it slowly out loud to you. And it’s written down in front of you. And it’s “Mary,” which is not exactly challenging.

Their fictional counterparts certainly had their arguments, but they always made up by the end of the episode. In real life, Ball filed for divorce the day after they filmed the series finale (at which point the show had evolved into weirdness that was the hour-long “Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” anyway)—which was also Arnaz’s birthday.”
